ASK School of Motoring can help you become a safe and confident driver.

We completely understand that you will be nervous when learning to drive. It is a big step to make, but we are here for you every step of the way, until your test day and beyond. We will work at your individual pace; learning the controls, performing manoeuvres, and general road procedures. If you have any specific requirements, or just want to know more, please give us a call or text and we will discuss this further with you.

  • The minimum recommended number of hours learning to drive is approximately 40-60 as advised by the D.V.S.A. Everyone learns at a different rate, and although some people pick up the basic skills quickly, you still need to build an experience base before being ready to go solo. Once we see you can drive at the standard asked for by the D.V.S.A, then we can help you with the test.

  • On the day, you can expect to drive for between 35 to 45 minutes on average. During this time you will be expected to show ability to drive independently for 20 mins, either following given road signs, or using a sat nav. You will be asked to perform one “manoeuvre” and you will potentially be asked to carry out an emergency stop.
